Risen! [98/365]

An end to Lent and 40 days of fasting or whatever luxuries/necessities that faithful gave up.
Biblically, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Christ after being crucified. It also signifies Christ's defeat of death and victory over sin of the entire human race.

Also, one of two times in a year when all Christians will go to Church.  It's finally party time!
To a devout Christian, Easter is about letting go of the past and embracing a new beginning. Sometime like turning a page in your life. If there is someone you have a grudge against and you find it impossible to forgive, this is the time of the year when forgiving makes more sense.

However, Christian rituals and festivals have always had deep roots in paganism, in order to make christian theology more acceptable to pagans at the time.

Throughout the history of mankind, religions and rituals have adapted themselves to the local customs of its people. Because a custom that does not have a function in society dies out.

A time of the year when Indians, particularly South Indians, celebrate their love for one another with non vegetarian food. While Easter has gained popularity in India, with confectioners doing brisk business in Easter bunnies and colorful Easter eggs. Easter has now become commercialized and secularized. An extended weekend for non believers more than the spiritual connotation that it really brings.

The Lord has risen!
