Just another day for Poonam [104/365]

Okay, so men in India really missed something monumental.
The International Cleavage Day, on the 31st March.
But Poonam Panday obviously didn't miss it. She posted a picture of herself celebrating her cleavage. Woo Hoo!

Question here. Did we really need an entire day to celebrate cleavage? The idea, supported by Wonderbra together with Cosmo, thinks the day is necessary.
Wonderbra PRO says: "It is a day for women to realize that their cleavage is something unique and that they should be proud of it. It gives women a chance to be beautiful and glow in the furtive, yet appreciative, glances their cleavage evokes from men". She also explained, "It gives men a legitimate reason to stare at boobs." (sic)
Wow! Seriously?!
One of the reasons why men won't take women seriously is because we have women who think this way.
If they really wanted to make things better for women all over the world, the bra company could've used their PR genius and marketing millions at the right place. Stopping harassment and abuse at the workplace and elsewhere.
Instead, they've objectified women. They're promoting an evil that is beyond borders.

So, who else is this for?
For men who want an excuse to stare? Surely!
For women who want an excuse to show their plunging necklines and everything else.
And for unscrupulous plastic surgeons. An odd boob job is a fantastic way to earn much more.

I'm one for fun, but isn't this taking it a little too far?
International awareness days are important. We have the World Health Day and the World AIDS Day that really mean a lot and actually spread awareness and build support. While I can see the potential for awareness that the International Cleavage day can bring, but how can women get any meaningful support (apart from the obvious support of a bra) from society?

What's next?
Jockey will announce a 'Bulge in your pants' Day?

Now, after her infamous let down last year, I'd secretly vowed to resist all her promises this year. And not mention her in my blog this year. Darn, missed that one.
She continues to check Google to see if she is hot that day. Good news is she isn't. Woo Hoo!
